Every Individual Counts' Art Manifesto!
With Art being the bread and livelihood of many African Artists. We understand that Art remains the major contributor to the South African economy. With as many informal jobs that it feeds many families in various parts of Southern Africa. Art has an equivalent amount of buyers as meat in a butchery and vegetables at a green market. With a huge following from tourists that have a great eye for foreign Art as they pass by in their beautiful tour buses. The Art which is made with love, is among some of the economic boosters within rural areas and many tourism sites which assists the venues to develop a sense of resilience and sustainability through the methods used to preserve some of the most beautiful Artistic works that meet the human eyes. Which is why, we envisage the holistic process of Art development in South Africa especially in Rural areas and Townships. Through the process of working with various Artists we have learned how to appreciate pure talent and ensure that their works meet the relevant spectators to purchase or invest in the works to grow and to co-create moments, events and memories, that aim at constituting new stages in life that invite people to buy and or invest in Art. The process is all about building relations and developing endless collaborations between Artists and other relevant stakeholders who feel that they can help in, constructing sustainable methods of sourcing funds to acquire more resources that can act as collateral for Artists to thrive.
At Every Individual Counts, we value Art as a formal way of creating sustainable income. Because we know and took our time to understand, the potential Art has in its' ability of creating sustainable jobs. Especially jobs within the formal and informal sectors, where most of the economy plays a pivotal role in shaping the lives of Artists. Art consumers come from everywhere and they come at any time, it is how each Artist positions' themselves which determines, whether or not they will benefit from their Artistic works. That is why at Every Individual Counts, we are steadfast in promoting Entrepreneurship from grassroot levels especially in the Cultural and Creative Industry where we continuously request the Artists we work with to always be ready. Because the Cultural and Creative Industry as we envision it, has its own ability to help Artists especially those striving to be seen or marketable, that is why we catalyze the Arts through our endless efforts, that aim at the radical transformation of the Arts, its Artists and the rapid change needed in the quest of nurturing talent, especially at its earliest stages. At Every Individual Counts we mould talent, groom it, refine it and present it at its purest form. Enabling it to be perfect for that special moment and ready to be consumed. We want Artists to understand the importance of nurturing their talent and refining ones craft to befit their talent as the market is always hungry for new talent but we hardly present it in a way that favours the Artists. We focus on every Artists' progression, because we believe that it is paramount to take extreme measure that can assist in the level of development, which is put in into the the lives and advancement of each Artists' career. We want to focus on the long-term development every Artist we touch.
We do not only want to develop, but we want to create a conducive space and a safe environment for Cultural and Creative Practitioners to thrive. Which is why at Every Individual Counts, we have specifically designed dedicated programmes for the advancement of Artists to learn through our programmes, share indigenous skills and to pass scarce knowledge to each other, while also developing young and upcoming Artists to learn from their peers. The picture that we are trying to paint is for Artists and Creative Practitioners to earn a living through Art.
We also serve as a dedicated platform, that contributes to meaningful collaborations and aims for the creation, of impactful outcomes that caters for the direct advancement of each Artists' progress, especially the Artists we work with world wide. Because Every Individual Counts believes in sustainable Entrepreneurship, especially through the development of traceable markets and the invention of dedicated platforms which are designed specifically for the Arts, the Artists and other Creative practitioners within the Cultural and Creative Industry.
We strongly believe that for the Cultural and Creative industry to thrive. We need a strong National backbone, like DSAC that understands and is willing to support young and upcoming Artists, with all the relevant and required technical services that can help and also assist them to thrive in their Artistic careers. The strategies they propose to Province, and Local Government Art and Culture units, should be co-implemented by them to help in facilitating that each South African Artist and or Art groups, gets the opportunity to thrive and to become resilient within the Cultural and Creative industry.
That is is the ideology, we believe in at Every Individual Counts and as the home of Art we believe that together, we can transform the Nations' perspective towards Art!
